A major milestone for a technically demanding project

The RT93-35 vessel has a capacity of 9,300 m³, designed to transport oil and chemicals, operating in international waters with unrestricted service. This type of vessel features high technical specifications and strict quality standards, requiring production management, quality control, and safety assurance to be executed rigorously right from the initial stages. The vessel was constructed in accordance with the requirements of Vietnam Register, RINA (Italy), and international standards concerning maritime safety, environmental protection, and operation.
“Hai Nam 96” is also the initial product of the cooperation program between Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company and Hai Nam Co., Ltd. To bring the vessel to the launching milestone on schedule, Song Cam mobilized extensive resources—from managers, engineers, and technical staff to direct production workers—while maintaining close coordination with consulting agencies, partners, and classification societies. Quality, schedule, and safety were identified by the company as three key requirements throughout the project implementation.
Mr. Tran Manh Ha - General Director of SBIC emphasized: “Today's launching ceremony is a significant milestone, but it also opens up a new journey for all parties to continue coordinating to complete the vessel, ensuring quality, schedule, and set technical requirements. We are confident that the cooperation between Hai Nam and Song Cam will continue to grow in the coming time.”
Representing the shipowner, Mr. Do Van Ty - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Hai Nam Co., Ltd., expressed his gratitude to SBIC, Song Cam, consulting agencies, classification societies, and all officers, engineers, and workers who accompanied the project throughout its implementation.
From “Hai Nam 96” to new opportunities
The launching ceremony of the RT93-35 tanker “Hai Nam 96” took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere, marking the moment the vessel officially left the building berth to enter the next stages of completion.
For Song Cam, this is not only a technical milestone for the project but also an opportunity to reaffirm its capacity in building specialized vessels, oil tankers, and chemical tankers—segments that demand high standards in design, technology, quality, and safety. From a single product, the RT93-35 project opens up expectations for further cooperation between Song Cam and Hai Nam, while providing a foundation for the company to expand its customer base, diversify its products, and enhance competitiveness.
With the guidance and support of SBIC, alongside the determination of its staff, engineers, and workers, Song Cam is step-by-step consolidating its capability, improving product quality, and proactively taking on shipbuilding projects with increasingly complex technical demands.
Leaving the slipway today, “Hai Nam 96” carries not only the fruits of a project, but also high expectations for new journeys—of the vessel at sea, and of Song Cam in enhancing its capacity, expanding partnerships, and asserting its position in the Vietnamese shipbuilding industry.
