On the afternoon of June 27, in Hai Phong, Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company (under the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) successfully launched the offshore construction ship ST 245 hull number 82 and laid the keel for ST 245 Ship number 83.
The successful launch is an important milestone in the construction and completion process as well as the operation of the ship. This product was contracted by Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company to build a new ship for the ship owner, Myklebust Verft A/S Company (Norway). Offshore construction ships are modern products with complex features for marine projects.
In particular, the ship is equipped with an engine and tank to use methanol fuel instead of fuel oil, helping to reduce environmental pollution during operation and exploitation. The ship is built following the green energy development trend.

After a period of active preparation for construction, with effective coordination between the ship owner, the design unit, the inspection agency and close direction from all levels, the ship was launched 1 month earlier than the original schedule. Mr. Pham Hoai Chung, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, said that with the experience accumulated from previous products and the effective cooperation of the ship owner, the Corporation will support and direct Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company to construct and hand over to the ship owner to ensure progress and quality to meet the expectations of all parties.

When the vessel is completed and put into operation, it will be a timely addition of a high-quality, environmentally friendly offshore service vessel to the existing fleet, to improve capacity, competitiveness, and meet the sustainable business strategy of the enterprise in the coming time.
Following the success of Ship No. 1, Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company has signed a contract with Myklebust Verft A/S (Norway) to build a new offshore construction ship No. 2 and upgrade its inspection, maintenance and repair features. The product was cut on February 11, 2025 and its keel was laid on June 27.
